The new school year is almost upon us, and it’s time to think about volunteer opportunities at CHCS. Parent participation ensures the success of our events and activities, and is an enjoyable way to support the school and teachers--not to mention a great way to meet and form friendships with other moms and dads!

There are many ways in which you may be able to contribute. Below is a list of some of the opportunities that you may take advantage of throughout the year:

  • Teacher Appreciation: Be a part of monthly luncheons for our teachers and staff. Help celebrate our special teacher (music, science, movement, etc.) and office staff birthdays.
  • Special Events: Be a part of our Fall Festival and Spring Sports Day. Help decorate and help in various stations that the children visit throughout the day on those special-event days.
  • Homeroom Parent: Plan and attend class parties as determined by the teachers. Most classes will host a class get-acquainted party, holiday parties, teacher birthday recognition, and end-of-year celebrations. Collect money for “Class Kitty” for purchase of teacher gifts.
  • Fundraising Volunteer:  Be a part of a group that helps organize opportunities for our school to raise money. (Fun Run, Scholastic Book Fair, etc.)

Every parent with a child at CHCS is a member of our PTO! More information and how you can become involved will be available at “Meet the Teacher.” Please consider volunteering and we will work together to make the 2012-2013 school year a special and memorable one for our children!

We appreciate all you do, and look forward to another great year!
